Policies, Terms & Conditions

  • Applies to ALL Participants: Regardless of where guests purchase their tickets, to include third-party OTA resellers such as Viator, TripAdvisor, GetYourGuide, etc.

Rider Requirements

  • Experienced Riders Only: Guests must have experienced proficiency riding bicycles. Experienced proficiency is defined as ‘riding bicycles on a regular basis’.

  • Familiarization Ride: Rider skills shall be demonstrated during the familiarization ride in the park (grassy area). CBCE has the right to cancel a guests tour due to insufficient riding skills. This is for the safety of third-party pedestrians on the boardwalk. In most cases, the guest will receive a 100% refund. A cancellation fee may be charged if other members of the party cancel as well. Please check with all your booked guests.

  • Height Requirements: Boardwalk riding requires riders to be able to put their feet on the ground while seated on the bicycle. This is approximately 5’2” tall for our Fat Woody Beach Cruisers. Riders unable to put feet down while seated on the beach cruiser will be offered an electric mini-cruiser (if available).

  • Electric Mini-Cruiser: If a guest is borderline riding skills or just a little short of getting their feet on the ground, CBCE will offer the rider a slightly smaller electric bike. Mini-cruisers are limited, so if guests think they may need one, please reserve it (call/text 619-779-2314)

Age Requirements

  • Riders must be 21+ years old.

  • Exception: Parents may include 13+ year old teen riders provided they meet the Rider Requirements. Because the Fat Woody beach cruiser weighs more than 90 lbs, younger riders may find the weight difficult to manage. For safety reasons, FWBCE reserves the right to have younger riders ride one of our mini-cruisers. Parental discretion is advised.

Safety Requirements

  • Helmets are provided for use on your cruise. Helmets are optional for riders over 18+ years old.

  • All riders must complete and sign the CBCE Liability Waiver. Parents must co-sign the waiver for those under 21 years old.

  • Improper Clothing: For safety reasons, any clothing hanging down in close proximity to the beach cruiser’s rear wheel & spokes will not be permitted. There is a possibility the clothing can get wrapped in the spokes and cause serious injury to the rider. This includes skirts, dresses, and layers tied around a riders waist. No exceptions.

Note: Fat Woody Beach Cruisers have been ergonomically modified placing the rider significantly closer to the wheel spokes than traditional bicycles.

Ticket Purchases

  • Coronado Beach Cruiser Experience (CBCE) reservations and ticket purchases are made only through our secure server.

  • Fat Woody Beach Cruiser Experience (FCBCE) reservations and ticket purchases made through third-party OTA resellers (Viator, TripAdvisor, GetYourGuide, etc.) are not eligible to receive sales and/or special offers made through our CBCE direct booking channel. • Your cruise confirmation will be sent by email.

  • You will receive a reminder notification text approximately 24 hours before your cruise reservation.

  • If you did not pay for your experience at time of booking, guests must confirm attendance 24 hours prior to tour start. Failure to confirm your reserved tour experience within 2 hours of tour start may result in tour cancellation.

  • Cancel anytime up to 24 hours before your scheduled departure.

  • Cancellations due to inclement weather will be refunded. (see Inclement Weather Cancellation policy)

Your Beach Cruiser Experience

  • The Check-In/Familiarization/Safety session prior to tour start is approximately 30 minutes.

  • The Beach Cruiser Experience is approximately 2.5 hours long with stops, but can vary with boardwalk traffic. We recommend blocking at least 3 hours for this activity.

  • Failure to check-in at the scheduled cruise time may result in missing your cruise departure.

Injury/Crash During Beach Cruiser Experience

  • Bike tours entail unanticipated risks that can result pausing, stopping or cancelling a tour for all riders.

  • If a rider is injured due to an accident, all guests agree to allow CBCE representatives to pause/stop the tour to render aid. In extreme cases, a tour may be cancelled.

  • Guests not directly involved in the accident will continue on their tour, but understand & agree that there may be a delay that extends their overall tour time. If that is not possible for guests, they will receive a voucher for a complimentary tour experience at a later date. Refunds will not be offered.

  • Guests involved in an accident/injury during an experience (through their own negligence) will not receive a refund or voucher. Guests agree to 100% financial responsibility for damages to third-parties injury, property (damage) as well as damage and repairs to CBCE bikes. This is included in the CBCE Waiver of Liability guests are required to sign and agree to.

Mechanical Issue

  • Fat Woody beach cruisers are incredibly reliable and well maintained, but any piece of equipment is prone to momentary and unforeseen failure. This failure may also represent safety concerns.

  • Fat Woody reserves the right to substitute an electric mini-cruisers or cancel an experience due to mechanical issues. Cancelled tours due bike availability will receive a 100% refund, and preferred, ‘priority rescheduling’ of your cruise party.

Cancellation Policy:

Inclement Weather Cancellation:

We understand it’s no fun to ride in ‘less than desirable’ weather. Our top priority is ensuring a memorable experience. Rain can also be a safety issue. If the weather looks inclement, we reserve the right to cancel the day’s tours and you will receive a 100% refund. We will contact you 2 hours before the tour starts to notify/discuss.

  • Once a tour starts, there are no refunds due to bad weather that may pop up. We will seek cover (if available) and continue when it passes.

Guest Cancellation:

Cancel your booking/reservation anytime up to 24 hours before tour start and receive a refund (see notes below).

  • Guest cancellations are subject to a 3% transaction fee. This is due to credit card processing companies (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) no longer refunding their transaction fees to the small businesses. They keep the 3% fee for your initial charge.

  • Alternatively, guests have the option to reschedule their experience or request a voucher for future use.

  • Guest cancellations within 2 hours of the departure time (for any reason) are subject to a $100 cancellation fee. This covers our fuel & time we spent transporting the cruisers to the island.

  • Guests failing to show up for their tour (intentionally or unintentionally) are subject to a ‘no-show’ fee of $50 per rider.
